Provide a cozy reading environment. Designate that it is the reading area by including book shelves, labeled reading levels on books, and a rug.
Having a focus wall is a good way to keep students engaged on the weekly vocabulary and spelling words. They are located in the same spot each week.

Fun idea for displaying student work. Students can become motivated to do well on a project when the teacher consistently posts student work on the walls.
Make sure to have a designated spot in the classroom to list homework assignments. This helps those who need visual reminders of tasks and homework assignments.
Have a separate area just for group work.
